The beginning of February means paper hearts, cupids, and those cute-but-ever-so-chalky little heart candies everywhere! We brought out our Valentines decorations just in time for the February Ladies tea. What a turn out! We had over forty ladies join us for red velvet cookies, a selection of tea, and a special project; an angel heart tree. Our host Jeni passed out paper hearts and everyone wrote a special Valentines day wish or memory. The Valentines were then taken and put up on our bulliten board for all to read for the rest of the month.

Many wartime veterans or their spouses are unaware that they may be eligible for benefits that can help with the cost of living at Woodland Estates or other senior living centers.The American Association for Wartime Veterans is an organization available to provide information on these benefits and to answer any questions one may have.

Once a month we host a special birthday night for our residents who have birthdays in that month. January had 13 birthdays! This month we celebrated with The Pumperstix, a local polka band specializing in traditional German Polka. As usual, we always serve three entre options for dinner and on birthday night we serve a little more “gourmet”. And no birthday night is complete without cake and ice cream!

With all the rush of the holidays, Woodland Estates would like to wish you and your family a happy new year! 2010 brought it’s ups and downs. We were sad to say goodbye to a few of our beloved residents but incredibly happy to see all the new faces the year has brought us! In these times of economic uncertainties, it is the love and friendship that we hold onto this time of the year. With the Christmas season still in our hearts, the staff and residents bid you a joyful new year. We hope your homes are filled with peace in 2011.

Please join us on Friday, November 12th from 9am to 3pm for our annual holiday bazaar!

We will be hosting a variety of crafters and artists from all over the  area. A warm and tasty lunch buffet will be served from 11:30am-1pm for $7.50. This is a great time to get some of your holiday shopping done and get in the mood for Christmas!
